About Zinc Oxide 20%

Zinc oxide is a mineral that forms a physical barrier on the skin. At 20% in an ointment base it seals out wetness, protects irritated skin from friction and irritants, and gives skin a chance to recover. It contains no steroid, antibiotic, or fragrance.

The Medi-First® label covers helping to treat and prevent diaper rash, protecting chafed skin or minor skin irritation due to diaper rash and helping to protect from wetness, and drying the oozing and weeping of poison ivy, oak, and sumac.

The 16 oz jar is sized for a changing table, a gym bag, or a household that goes through a lot of it.

Using it well

  • For diaper rash: change diapers promptly, clean and pat dry, and apply liberally at each change, especially at bedtime or before long stretches in a wet diaper.
  • For chafing: apply before activity to reduce friction, or after to protect raw skin.
  • Use a clean finger or spatula to scoop from the jar. For external use only; keep out of the eyes.
